Blue screen after installing windows vista




















Nothing i try seems to be having any affect. If i can't find a solution i may have to format and re-install vista. I have absolutely no problem with the OS to be honest i think it's a fantastic OS , all my programs run fine, everything works. An exception happened while executing a system service routine. Regards, Dale. I chose the upgrade option when installing Win7 and it ran without problems although it did take a heck of a long time. I've read up on similar problems posted by people around the net with the same setup as mine. Which logs are you referring to Jackal? I've read over the XML file described in the 'Blue screen' error message and it just lists my hardware.

Never used skydrive before. Not sure if this is the correct link i should be giving you. Firefox froze for a split second and i was sent to the blue screen.

I feel this may be a clue. Now I know it's definitely my video drivers. Just as I expected. Although, the first step I took when I found the problem was updating my video drivers I'll update them again just to be sure. The linked driver was already installed but i installed it again just to be sure. After installing and restarting, then about 10 seconds after logging in i got another blue screen.

I checked Windows Update and there were many optional updates mostly regarding languages but there was one update for my graphics driver, dated February This is more recent that the driver i downloaded manually, the driver Dale linked was dated November 16, So i set the updater to download and install the update.

After reading up on the internet, i found the only reasonable explanation would be 'The driver is already installed or the driver you attempted to install is of a later date' or words to that effect. I'll check the logs now for any more clues.

After reading through the logs, concentrating on the ones marked! ERROR i found that this error appears the most. I'm not really sure if it's anything related though. You can try to uninstall the video driver completely and install the older driver to see if it works. Anyway, to solid troubleshoot this kind of issue, please contact contact Microsoft Customer Support Service CSS for assistance so that this problem can be resolved efficiently.

Ok i'll uninstall then reinstall the drivers. I'm not sure i would want to go through the trouble of contacting microsoft directly, although that will always be an option.

If that doesn't work, i guess i'll have to stick with vista I don't really have a problem with vista, it's just, Win7 is a huge improvement. My video card isn't the best, most games only run on low graphics and they're still quite choppy. If i do have to downgrade, i'll be really dissapointed. As always I'll post back with the results.
